The Avent Isis Comfort Breast Shells help to protect sore nipples, helps to ease from engorgement, and collects excess breast milk. You can wear the breast shell comfortably in your bra under your clothes while out. While you are breast feeding to collect the excess milk put the breast shell on the breast you are not nursing.
You should also only wear the breast shells no longer than 40 minutes. Once you have had the breast shells on for 40 minutes you should take them off, they may be putting to much preasure on the milk ducts.

Rating I use these in the morning with the first feeding because I leak on whatever side my daughter is not nursing from. I use them more so the milk doesn't go to waste than to protect my clothing. If I used them for protection of clothing or for sore nipples I would not have rated them as high as I did. First, they are not made for really large breasts. They set nicely over the nipple, but certainly do not cover much more than the areola area. If I were to wear these out, my breasts would look like large mushrooms. They are nice in the privacy of my own home, though. The shell that fits on the breast is comfortable. It is easy to clean and soft. I would recommend these for the use of collecting leaking milk while pumping and feeding only. I would not recommend these to wear out when you are going to miss a feeding and know you will leak. Wear disposable pads. Also, I wouldn't recommend them for the sore nipple problem either if you are large breasted. (Posted on 12/22/09)

Rating I was so sore and about to give up breastfeeding do to the pain, but I got a nipple shield and these shells. They are not the most sightly thing but I put a pad in front of them and they dont look so pointy and that also keeps the milk from leaking to bad. The trick to the leaking is empty them everytime you feed. There where some problems but at the same time they saved me and I highly recommend anyone having trouble to try them out before they give up. (Posted on 11/7/09)

Rating I love these shells. I put one on whatever side I'm not pumping or nursing on and collect 1/2 oz or more of milk that would otherwise be wasted. I also use them when I have to clean bottle parts or won't be able to pump or nurse for a while. It's great, milk that would normally just soak into a pad is instead saved to go into my son's bottle.
